The Phillies have acquired Cliff Lee and Ben Francisco from the Cleveland Indians for prospects Carlos Carrasco, Jason Knapp, Jason Donald, and Lou Marson. As long as Lee and Francisco pass there physicals they will be on the Phillies.
Cliff Lee is the reigning Cy Young Award winner. This year Lee is 7-9 with a 3.14 ERA. Ben Francisco looks like he is the right-handed bat off the bench the Phillies have been looking for. He is batting .250 this year with 10 homeruns and 33 RBI's.
Some scouts say that Jason Knapp might be a better prospect than Kyle Drabek. The only difference between the two is that Drabek is a lot closer to the big leagues than Knapp is, which is probably the reason why they were willing to part with Knapp. The Phillies were able to avoid giving up there top prospects Kyle Drabek, Dominic Brown, and Michael Taylor. This is really incredible how they did it that way.
